Hatha Yoga is for everybody and anybody - as I discovered for myself!

I was that person who didn’t like going to the gym and after a particularly stressful period in my life I discovered yoga! I’m not particularly flexible but yoga is not about trying to stand on your head or do the splits - thank goodness!

Hatha Yoga focuses on postures and breathing at a slower and more mindful pace than a power yoga class would. However, the list of benefits are immense with some of them listed below:

Mentally

  • Looks after your mental health by increasing the level of neurotransmitters in your brain like serotonin!

  • Helps quieten the chatter in your mind through breathing practices, also known as pranayamas

  • When l started yoga with Lili I was a complete beginner. 5 years on l am still loving it. Lili is a very gentle and calm teacher. She is able to challenge the more advanced participants and for those who are not quite as experienced or have an injury will modify positions, movements to suit individuals.   • I retired 18 months ago whilst COVID restrictions were still in place. A colleague suggested that I join the zoom yoga class that she was attending and it has been great! Even though I was new to yoga and we’re not in the room together, Lili gives off calm and confident vibes. She’s very ‘in the moment’ and explains the moves and positions well. She also offers alternative moves to those with any issues. The chat prior to the class and at the end of the class is lovely too, again, although we’re not in the room together it’s friendly and inclusive, but still professional.

    After a class I feel nicely stretched, as though I’ve worked, and very relaxed. I would recommend both this particular class, and Lili as an instructor. Rona.
