The Power of Turmeric, Ginger and Black Pepper

Are you looking for a simple way to fight inflammation, boost immunity and improve digestion?

The ancient trio - turmeric, ginger and black pepper delivers results that have personally worked for me!  I have added a few extra ingredients, and you can do the same if you wish.

  • Turmeric: A natural anti-inflammatory

  • Ginger: Sooths the gut and strengthens immunity

  • Black Pepper: Enhances absorption for maximum impact - Turmeric and black pepper, when combined, offer significant health benefits, primarily due to the enhanced absorption of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, by piperine, found in black pepper. This combination boosts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

  • Honey - known for it's many healing benefits and it's sweet!

  • Oranges & Lemons - high in vitamin C and also have many benefits plus they taste good!

In 2024 I started to experience pain in the base of my right-hand thumb, opening a jar was painful or simply picking something up would intensify the pain.  I decided to go to the doctor to see what was going on.  The result was just ware and tare and I was prescribed Diclofenac cream for the inflammation and to ease the pain, which did work, and I was grateful to have.

I had seen and read that Turmeric was known to ease inflammation so I thought I would give it a go without really expecting anything from it.  In December 2024 I started to make a morning drink of freshly squeezed orange, lemon, turmeric, freshly grated ginger and a crack of black pepper - some days I would add a honey too.  I continued this morning ritual mostly every day as I really looked forward to having it.  I can't recall exactly when, but around February, I noticed I was hardly using my cream as I wasn't experiencing pain anymore, there would be the odd day where I would hold something in a certain way and start to feel a very faint pain but not enough to apply the cream.

Also, in December 2024, I was Christmas shopping and noticed I had severe pain on the outside of my left foot, by the end of the day, I could hardly stand on it.  I decided to go to a podiatrist as it was so painful.  The appointment resulted in being sent for an x-ray which revealed I had an old injury.  A small splint of bone was in a tendon - I cannot recall hurting myself so it's very strange to how this could have happened.

By February I wasn't experiencing pain anymore.  Could this be just a fluke? Was it because I had rested it? I hadn't bought insoles or new orthopaedic shoes, or taken tablets so could this actually be the Turmeric potion working?  Who knows, who cares?!  I wasn't in pain anymore!

I'm very careful now when opening jars and use a jar opening tool to do the work, I am careful what shoes I wear as my foot does need a bit of cushioning, no more flip flops or flat sandals for me, but I am willing to sacrifice!  It is now April, and I have not had to go back to the podiatrist - I had that one visit costing £50 which was well worth it as it was quick, and I was sent for an x-ray straight away.  I have not had to go back to the doctor for more cream, and I don't take painkillers.

It's not only the physical side I'm happy about it's also the mental side of not worrying about using my hand or walking! I'm not constantly bothered by pain and wondering what is going on.

Here's my recipe and please check with your doctor or do some research before taking Turmeric.  I would also advise not to combine taking a Turmeric supplement and drinking the potion!
